Ariane 0 Posted September 27, 2009 Hi, Try eating some greek yogurt with a little honey. I have some of the 2% but I'm still on liquids. I'm not a yogurt fan but this one is good and seems to help the hunger. My problem is the bloating and gas!! So bad!!!!! Hope you feel better soon... :seeya:
incolorado 1 Posted September 27, 2009 So, no one has any words for me?:seeya: Not even a "hope you feel better soon"? My stomach is really hurting with what can be best described as hunger pains. Have you tried creamed Soups? Campbell's has a low-fat broccoli cheese Soup that is pretty good and helped with the hunger. Can you have yogurt? That might help too. It is rough, gets better once you start mushies. Hope you feel better. Eat some soup!
Ready4a2ndChance 0 Posted September 27, 2009 Tonight I started getting hunger pains really bad. I have been sitting at my desk playing games when my stomach started growling. It has gotten increasingly worse. I tried drinking some tea. Then I tried a shake and it only seems to be getting worse. It is making very loud growling noises. Anyone else with this problem? My stomach did this very often in the beginning mainly when I was on full liquids...............it started to get sort of comical the louder it was, hahaha

Loveslady 0 Posted September 27, 2009 He was going to fill you and then have you go right to food? That sounds weird to me. You were banded sep 21 or thereabouts right? Post on the sept group and ask if anyone has gone to solid foods 2 weeks post op (that is where you would be right?). If you post w/ a specific topic you will get those answers. So I see two things wrong with that 1) you would be eating solids before you should be - stomach needs to heal for about 3 weeks 2) you would be getting a fill and eating solids right away - my place has you do 2 days liquids, 2 days mushies after a fill. I don't know what others are doing (again you can post that as a new thread probably in post op section) I would post threads w/ these questions as here you get less traffic on this particular thread. Its just us who have been following this thread - not that we can't tell you what we think but you would get more opinions and figure out what is best. Hi, I thought it sounded weird. I will do the liquids but then it to food. I can pass the mushy stage. It does sound strange. I like it on this page. Plus I keep getting lost trying to find the september board except if I click on your the link that you created but I have to look for it each time.
srenee99 0 Posted September 28, 2009 I was banded on 9/3 and the hunger is really starting to kick in. I'm having no problem eating soft foods and the restriction I originally had seems to be decreasing. I'm hanging in there until Oct 16th when I get my first fill. I felt great immediately after, and I swear, if I didn't have healing incisions, I think I could almost believe I had never been banded. Thankfully, I've lost 16 lbs since the 3rd. Is this hunger normal?

On the main page of lapband talk just scroll down there are many other different groups this one is under 2009 bandsters and if you click on that you can see each months forum. I am not saying you should skip the mushy stage just so that I am not being misinterpreted. I'm not a doctor so not saying anything - just lettign you know what they told me to do. No solid food for 3 weeks post op - and after fills 2 days liquid 2 days mushy then solid food each time after a fill.

Anni80 0 Posted September 28, 2009 Havent posted in a while,, I was banded on the 15th and I think Im doing fairly well. Having a hard time not advancing myself to mushies.. supposed to wait until wednesday. Scary thing though on Saturday night I looked down at my bandages and they were full like a balloon with this yucky pinkish Fluid and I called my surgeon and he said I had a seroma which is basically a build up of fluid that started to leak through a pinhole in the incision. I've had to keep a kotex taped to my belly for two days now. Anyone experiencing this? Or I am the only lucky one... Hows everyone else?
pickles123 0 Posted September 28, 2009 Hi everyone: I had my surgery in Sept 22nd. I am feeling good except low energy level. I guess that is to be expect being on the liquid post op diet. Coloradomon: Could you tell me how many carbs are in that cream of broccoli Soup? It sounds Yummy. Srenne: You are doing great. 16 pounds. Wow What did you eat? Nawlinzlady: Wonderful you are feeling so good. I wish my gas was all gone; but, it is not bad. Glad to hear you are losing already. Anni80: I am just the opposite. I am afraid to move on to anything. (I am still in the liquid 2 weeks post op). Sorry about your seroma. That sounds yucky. Have a great day guys. Do you have to do Clear Liquids before and after your fill? Let us know how it goes! Havent posted in a while,, I was banded on the 15th and I think Im doing fairly well. I only had leakage the first couple days it was bright red blood but still scary and yuck! You were banded day before me and I am almost completely healed, i have only 2 tiny scabs left. That seroma sounds terrible, did he say how long it will last? Hi everyone:I had my surgery in Sept 22nd. I am feeling good except low energy level. I agree about staying with the liquids as long as you feel satisfied, it does help your weight loss. But don't let yourself feel too hungry, it will eventually lead to poor choices. It is better to add some mushies if your not feeling satisfied by the liquids.:smile2:
SmilinShel 0 Posted September 28, 2009 Hey Everyone. I haven't posted on this thread in a while (or in general). I had so much to catch up on with work and life once I got my full energy back...I didn't have as much time for luxuries like reading forums! At any rate, I am checking in since we are near the end of the month, so most everyone has had their surgery. I see we have a few more yet to go...good luck to you guys...as you can read, you have nothing to worry about. Amanda - We got banded the same day and have lost the exact same amount of wait post-op. Way to go girl. I don't get a fill until 10/16, but I am not having too many hunger issues so I am okay with that. I am actually going to approach fills more conservatively anyway. I am still on the soft foods phase, so I haven't had any discomfort or stuck issues. I have felt a tightness when I have eaten more than a cup of food. I don't have any Fluid in my band, but I can definitely tell it is there. It is tempting to eat and drink once you can if you don't have any fluid in your band - but this healing phase is key - don't overdo it...sip...and eat small portions! Exercise - I am definitely not the type that can run either, but I must say, I would not miss a Zumba class for anything! I am now going three times a week. At 800-1000 calories burned per class I am melting away the inches! I know my calorie count is accurate because I have a GoWearFit that I have worn to measure it. The variance is, of course, based on my personal level of intensity :smile2: No matter what you do - don't leave exercise out of your regimen. *Hugs* to all - and best of luck to everyone. Just remember, slow and steady is the way to make it to the end!
