Hello!! Finally I find one for September although I must say the peeps in the August one were very very sweet. Ok here it goes. I am 38 years old with 3 sons. I work fulltime at a desk and have resisted any type of exercise for the past few years. Franky it hurts to even get around when you are this big but I am so tired of being heavy. I'm also tired of having sweat collect in creases that don't belong on my body and under spots that used to be up higher on my body, if you catch my drift.

My surgery date is September 8th with Dr. Snow. I can't wait !!

I am about 5'11, 310 with a bmi of 43. I start my preop on September 3rd and I also have no idea what shake to get, I hear so many horror stories about taste, consistency and what they do to your intestines. So if any of you have suggestions please pass them along.

I hope to get to know each and every one of you as we collectively go through this journey of a lifetime.

Blessings to you and yours..

Hi Dr. Snow is also doing my surgery on September 1rst good luck.

All of the above. Can't wait! I am going to start my pre-op diet on Monday even though my doctor only requires 5 days pre-op diet. I am also going to start walking on my treadmill, Monday. So hopefully all goes well. We will all suceed. We just all need to stick with it and stick together. Yeah for the September 09 bandsters! Yes we can!

here is how to get to the ticker...

go to the Home Page,

then look for Basics for lap band surgery for beginners,

then frequently ask questions,

then lap band talk forum-frequently asked questions,

then use the search section- type in ticker,

there is step by step tutorial with pics..

hope this helps

Hello,

I am thrilled to have a September 1 surgery date! So close!

I only have to do a 3 day clear liquid diet ("only", ha ), and until then I appear to be in "last supper" mode, eating all the stuff I am afraid I will miss. I am not too worried about it since I have just 3 weeks till surgery and I know I will lose on the liquid diet (last time I did one of those, with some food, I lost 11 lbs in 3 days).

Good luck to you all, and I look forward to hearing all of your stories.

welcome..

I am also scheduled for 9/1/09..

good luck to you also:tt1:

Hi everyone! Im so glad this got started! My surgery date is Sept. 2! I found out at the beginning of August I got approved. And like many of you guys I took it on myself to go ahead and start working out and eating right. I had a few moments where I thought I can do it myself and I lost 13 pounds. Then I went on Vacation and finals for school started and I managed to gain most of it back much much quicker than it took to lose it. That settled it for me...NO MORE GAMES IM GOING ALL OUT THIS TIME!! I actually do not have any type of pre op diet but I am going to continue to try to do better and work out! Good Luck everyone keep me updated!

I decided to start my own pre-op diet today of full liquids and I also exercised for 30 minutes on my treadmill. Feel great and not even hungry. Well good night all. Have to work in the morning.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
