Congrats!!! Isn't it excited and scarey at the same time?

I also received my approval letter last week and I'm now waiting on a surgery date.

Hopefully, time will pass as quickly as the last 6 months have and we will all be well on our way!

Congrats to everyone on their insurance approvals! I'm sure it won't be long until I'm hearing about all of your successful surgeries :-)!

Congratulations! My doctor and I are getting everything together for my insurance. I have a few appointments with doctor, nutritionist, phys. and a med procedure before we will have everything together. I'm hoping we will have everything ready to send in before the end of the month. I hope I hear something before the end of September. Maybe in a month or so I can post the same message you just posted.

Congratulations!

How long was you're approval process? I am in the beginning stages and would like to know how long it will take. I am going to the orientation on Aug 12th. What are the steps that follow and is it true that insurance companies make you wait 6 months?

Hi Jerzee Girl,

I went to a seminar on 7/14/09. I saw the doctor last week. I'm not sure how long it will take, but we are moving right along with all the appointments I need. Good luck.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
