CancunGirl 1 Posted September 27, 2005 Help!! I did not think about this before, but I´m starting my period today, so I will have it the day of my surgery OMG!. What is the protocol here? aaamom 0 Posted September 27, 2005 not to fret !! I got my period the day of surgery. Went in with a tampon. Not to sound gross, but they removed it when I was out cold. Woke up with a pad and those beautiful undies to keep them in place. You are so out of it the first 12 hours, I didnt even notice the nurses dealing with cleaning me up. the good news is you are in the hospital for only 24 hours, so really not a big deal. good luck Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

princess_n_thep 2 Posted September 27, 2005 I was allowed to wear and keep the tampon. Fresh one right before surgery. Then changed it myself when I got up to walk around. I was coming off of my period when I had surgery not going into it. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
