Surgery Postponed...

Hey All -

Well, some of you know that I've been sick since I started the pre-op diet (think that's probably coincidental). Anyway, ended up with bronchitis and a double ear infection this week. Called my surgeon today and they said I need to finish my antibiotics before they can do surgery, so surgery moved from Monday August 3rd to Friday August 7th. Funny thing is that my surgeon is doing a workshop for other doctors that day, so my surgery will be recorded and shown via satellite to other bariatric surgeons. I was fine with that for two reasons 1) they don't show my face and 2) I figure he's gotta be on his "a" game right??

So, bummed that I have to live on liquids for yet another week, but feel better that at least I'll be healthy for surgery.

Hey Jen,

So sorry to hear that but it is more important that your are healthy and that the surgery go on in the safest manner possible !!

I've had bronchitis in the past and am a habitual upper resp infection sufferer and if you're having any of the coughing its better not to have any incisions that would be irritated like hell !! Take care of yourself, make sure you drink plenty of hot tea ( it always helps me) and STAY IN BED. You've made it this far, 4 more days wont break you !!!

Well, I hate to hear that your postponed but at least it wasn't for a really long time.

Better to go into this being healthy!

Besides now we can be banded sisters...I'm scheduled for the 7th as well!

Well, at least it's only 4 days, and you're totally right... if he's doing it via satellite, he will totally be doing PERFECT!!
