2nd day pre-op full liquid....I CHEATED!!!!!

Recommended Posts

:sad:I'm SOOOOO disgusted with myself. I had my appointment this morning for my EKG and ECHO. When I finally finished-it was lunchtime and I still had a 45 minute drive back to work, I said I was going to stop by the Chinese restaurant and pick up some Soup, then I saw the sushi bar and couldn't stop myself, I got a crunch roll. UGH!!!!! I'll start back again for snack and dinner. Anybody have some ideas on what I can eat on a full liquid diet when I need to pick up fast food?

Personally I would stay away from fast food, I mean you have a food addiction why put yourself in that position? This pre op diet is serious and it's important that you focus and follow your specific plan given to you from your surgeon. Then there's the post op diet that needs to be followed so you can heal properly.... Just dig deep and remember why your doing this!!!!!

Make sure that you are planning ahead and then you shouldn't have to pick up fast food. I know in the beginning stages it would be hard for me when the family would order fast food. I refused to hold the bag in the car! Now it doesn't bother me so much - it really grosses me out and the smell is horrible!

Make sure you have some Protein powder with you and a shaker. I still have baggies of Protein Powder in my purse and in my computer bag, that way if I get hungry or can't have to stay late somewhere, I always have something with me that I can "eat".

In later stages, you can carry around Protein Bars, nuts, etc to have on hand for the hungries. I think planning is the best way to go, then you are not wondering what to eat or putting yourself in situations where you might make a poor choice.

Remember that this whole process is a learning journey. So don't beat yourself up - get back on track and be ready for what tomorrow may bring!

Thanks, you all are right, I need to avoid the places that cause temptation. Being new at this, I'm really not sure what I can eat yet

Good idea....Save fast food for later when your off all restrictions and have better control.

I don't believe in forbidden foods, just moderation.

Good luck and keep us up on your progress!

I know it is really difficult but I made a pact with myself during the first part of my losing stages not to even go to a fast food place or chinese. It is just to inviting and risky. I was addicted to McDonald's regular hamburgers. I haven't had one in ages. I don't even want one now. I am so focused and want so much to lose this weight that I am just determined to make the band work for me. I think the fact that I have lost some of the weight already has really helped. The inches are the biggest loss for me and it feels so good to have my clothes start to get too loose. I hope for you that once you begin to see the weight come off, that you will have a stronger will power. Good Luck and keep us posted.

I agree with everyone else, it's probably best to just not put yourself in that situation. Stay away from any type of restaurant right now.

You aren't going to have to do this forever. Just hang in there and always keep a good supply of what you can have on hand, so you're also not going to the store at this time.

Good Luck! You'll be so glad you followed the rules, trust me.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
