Can't keep any food down

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was banded in May and have had two fills so far, I have lost 50lbs. Things were going really great up until last week, I have not been able to keep any food down, when I say food even the smallest amount of food I immediatley throw back up, I have been able to keep liquids down. My DR is ordering a GI for me tomorrow. I feel fine outside of not be able to eat. Does anyone know what's happening?

Banded May 23rd

Possible slip? I was told to look not being able to keep down solids and instant vomit is a sign of a slip. I hope in your case it is you are just too tight and may just need a small unfill. Good luck with the GI

Depends on how bad it has slipped, I have heard it can be unfilled for a few months and possibly fix itself but most have had to have it removed

It's sometimes necessary to have it removed and replaced, if you can do that. Others have been fortunate enough to have the fill let out and in time, the slip righted itself. This, of course, would be the optimal situation. I hope you don't have to deal with either.. but if you do, even this is much more preferable than gastric bypass complications. B)

hi! you could also have just gotten tighter from say a cough or sore throat even allergies. you could have also ate something that got lodged in your 'opening' causing you to swell some.

i wouldnt speculate cause you'll find out for sure tommorrow!

i have gotten to tight, to the point of not even my own saliva going down (2 times from a cold/cough, 2 times from getting overfilled) and i never slipped or had erosion.

*fingers crossed* please let us know what you find out!
