1 yr. post-op measurments

Recommended Posts

Today I had my 1 yr. post-op measurements taken. All on the numbers for the arms, ankles and legs are taken from the rt. Side of my body. Upper arm down 5.5 in, wrist down 1 in, chest down 10.5 in, waist down 14 in, hips down 13.5 in, thigh down 4.0 in, calf down 3.0 in, ankle down 1.5 in. Abdominal down 15.5 in, iliac down 14 in, hips down 13.5 in. BMI dropped 20.1, weight dropped 142 lbs. My fat weight was 169.8# now it is 63.7#. 1 yr. ago I exceeded the weight limit on the treadmill and wasn’t able to be test on it, today I walked the treadmill and now my fitness level is HIGH! That is the best news, I went from not being able to walk to high fitness level in 1 yr, my calculating resting metabolic rate assessment is 2232.56 cal/day. So I think that is 68.5 inches lost not including the left side of the body. I am very happy with these numbers and look forward making it to my final goal in the next year.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
