LOL!!! at Cantb2noty2 (i think that's the right way to spell it going on memory bad idea)

Actually I've had 1/2 of a chick fil a once. (not while I was healing though!) Nothing happened (earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, end of the world) and I still lost weight that week.

I LOVE the band!

But I'm glad to know you're sneaky and not saintly. Sneaky is much easier to live with! I was not so smart as you!

I went through it too. I kept reading the post op diet over and over thinking I MUST be missing something - it was then that I noticed that "blenderized soup" is a liquid on my doc's diet. Blendered cream of broccoli Soup (with extra milk) never tasted so good.

Read your diet again, there may be something that you've overlooked as an option.

yes blenderized Soup is saving my life!! (This is day 5 for me) and i want it homemade. so my dear husband cooked potatoes, peas, and fresh herbs in a chicken broth till soft. Then I pureed it and added a bit of 1/2 and 1/2 and a spoon of butter. DELISH and VERY satisfying. I am going to make more tomorrow and add a can of chicken to it. When I am on only Protein, some fat is a must for curbing hunger. try it, it works. Oh and if you do not have one, get one of those *bullet* thingies with the bunch of individual cups you can use for pureeing. they work great and are a great size. I have about 8 cups with mine and it has 1 cup and 2 cup sizes. perfect for our tiny tummies:tongue2:. be gentle with you, Dyanna

Why, oh why, did I NOT see this thread the other day when I was STARVING and having a melt down??!! LOL!!!

I was on clear liquids only for NINE heinous days. I had diarrhea on top of that. I couldn't have the Protein shakes til Day 6. *cries* I was deeply concerned I was going to end up on Death Row. LOL

What did I do? Had a melt down. I drank as much liquid as I possibly could, and went to bed early. It was horrible. I felt weak, miserable, and at night I was GROUCHY!!

The best thing I can suggest is drink those Protein drinks, get in enough fluids, and drink Propel (only 3 carbs, and clear). I know it's horrible. I am so grateful it's over for me. Those of you still enduring it, I feel your pain. It'll be over soon. (((((hugs)))))

My tummy is so hungry it growls and my cats look around like they need to be fighting something that's about to attack them!

I don't get to start mushies for another five days...Can have blended Soup but no cream Soups. I did make some chicken noodle with a little homemade herb butter ...it was YUMMY.

I am ready to CHEW!

I just got banded this week and I felt the same way yesterday.. at the same time I think its very important to be CAREFUL!! I had a 4oz Protein Shake and waited a hour then had 4 oz of broth. I thought I was Starving. After eating the broth I felt "full" which is weird because it was all liquids,,, I felt miserable all night, which misery is no fun, I'd rather have the hungry feeling.

One thing you can always try which helps me is get sugar free popsicles, my favorite are the fudgesicles. They seem to be hitting the spot between meals. Being hungry isn't always a bad feeling, remember it goes hand in hand with loosing weight. Also remember the more Protein (shakes) you take in the more full your tummy will feel.:crying:

My family is going to eat at a new restant tonight and I am trying to be tough. I am going to take my Protein Shake with me. This will be my big test. I am a week and 2 days out of being banded. I am wishing I could have something else besides broth. I just want something in my mouth that I can chew on.

That would be really hard for me to go out to dinner. I'm on mushies now and it's soooo much better. Good luck with dinner, you're a stronger person then me!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
