I have the Tanita HD 351. It is a fabulous scale. Very accurate (my weights are consistent with those at my physicians office), and easy to use. I like that the different user buttons record the last weight. My husband weighs on #1 and I use #2. Whenever I hit #2, it pops up with my most recent weight. I do not remember how much we paid for the scale, but it was not cheap. If you already have 2 scales, you could just pick which one you want to use. Even if the scale isn't 100% accurate, it should still reflect accurate weight loss.

Like the previous poster said, even if it isn't 100% accurate and in-sync with your doctor's scale, you can still track your weight loss.

I work at a hospital, so I use the big "professional" scale there...it's always about 3 pounds off compared to my doctors. But this way I know if it says I weight 214, then my doctor's office will show 217.

I was going to say "Tanita" but I think I may have been the one who said it was great in the other post! :crying:

Just fyi when I bought it I was a frequent poster on the WW chat board for super obese people so used that resource to scan old posts about bath scales, plus asked on several forums for people's favorites, and Tanita won hands down for durability and functionality and accuracy. Plus I read reviews on Amazon about it. So I selected the one that worked best for me.

You may not need a scale that will weigh up to 440 and if you don't, any Tanita branded scale is likely to be a good piece of equipment.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
