No, its gone the opposite way for me, I have no idea why it would get worse like that, you might want to run it by your doctor to be safe.

You are not alone....my cycle has changed too. Not sure if it is the weight loss, the change in diet, etc. I use a heating pad (my pain is in my lower back), and it seems to help. Good Luck!

Try to increase your Calcium in the weeks leading up to, and during your period. I have found this helps my symptoms A LOT! I have miserable periods as well.

I just hit my 6 months and this TOM is the worst I have had since I was a teenager! I took 2 midol yesterday:drool: at work! I could not believe it I had to leave early I came home and took some of the liquid pain meds from surgery and it just barely took the edge off. I was only able to have Water and apple juice all day. Today I have not had anything and I took my pain meds. I was told to take Iron supps to help and I was taking slow fe for a few months and stopped so maybe try that as well I know I will be back on them ASAP!

my first one after surgery was BAD....i think it has something to do with the WL making us more fertile..so more fertile=more miserable? lol I don't know...but the cramps last time were rough...ouch!

I had my TOM a week after surgery and it was a lot more heavy and painful, now I have cramps occasionally even though my it isn't my time. I also have an IUD, I have my yearly on the 3rd, I am going to ask her. My guess would be the weight loss, surgery, and all of it put together. I take Calcium now but it is sooo constipating. I have cut back to 1 a day instead of 2 chews and that seems to make it better.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
