Hi I am a little over a week out of surgery. I started mushies yesterdat and everytime I try to eat them I get a side ache in my left side that lasts for an hour or so. Has anyone else had this or know what it is?

I'm not sure if its same thing but I read in another post that someone got aches in shoulder when they ate too much (gas?) maybe... I'm not getting banded until Aug 5 and going to same doc as you... I feel confident about doc but nervous about procedure in general - that maybe somehow it just won't work for me. Did you feel good about hospital? Doc? Hotel? thanks, sorry, I'm not able to help yet.

Yeah I know the gas in my shoulder feeling. This is different. Its lower and deep in my side. I think Im going to go back to liquids for the rest of the weekend till I talk to the Dr on Monday.

Majpie-If you want to know about my experiance with the Dr, hospital there, and hotel, you can go into my thread in July bandsters called "my mexico thread" Here is the link http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f18165/my-mexico-thread-98183/ It documents the whole experiance day by day as I was there getting banded with Dr Rumbaut. And if you have any other questions that arnt in there, just private message me. :tongue2:

I couldn't eat mushies until week 3 and by then I was pretty healed and it didn't hurt. If it still hurts on Monday call your surgeon and ask.

Some people say that the ache in the left side is a sign of being full. Remember that being full will feel different now than it ever did before. Hopefully that's all this is. :tongue2:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
