punkin61 0 Posted July 24, 2009 I am 7 months post-op and during this last 2 weeks I have increased my time and intensity at the gym. I started a Protein Shake (Lean Dessert-Chocolate fudge pudding) and it is really good because I know I was not getting enough Protein. My problems is over the last 2 weeks I have GAINED 4 lbs:cursing:. Could this be from the shake? or too much exercising? I only walk 2 miles on the treadmill and sometime 5 minutes on the eliptical. No weights. My restriction is good and I am not eating more than I should. Anyone else seen this happen? I have another appointment in 2 weeks with my doctor. Any suggestions? Delivered 0 Posted July 24, 2009 I know you're frustrated, but I really hope that you don't become too discouraged about 4 lbs. It could be Water weight and depend on the time of month. Nevertheless, sounds like your doing all the right things....increasing Protein and exercising, so keep up the good work. Your hardwork will manifest itself in weight loss soon. greytz 4 Posted July 24, 2009 You do actually gain muscle mass as you exercise and you may gain a pound or two but it is ok. It is a good thing and you are burning off the fat. What is left will be lean wonderful muscle. It can seem weird and you think to yourself, (wait a minute I am exercising but gaining weight) but will be ok. And like delivered said, it could be anything such as Water gain. Don't worry, sounds like you are doing all the right things.
