I'm not banded yet, that is next friday. Scared/can't wait// really scared/, nervous/ can't wait!!! Well you get what I'm going through. I'm currently on the Meditrim shakes. Not bad.

I know this is the right thing for me I just hate being put to sleep. I'm not sure if that makes any sense, but ...

Thanx for letting me talk.

I, too, am new to all of this. You summed up the feelings perfectly! I also don't like being put to sleep in anticipation of pain on the other side! You will do great coz you have a positive attitude and acknowledge your true feelings. Next Friday is amazing...I don't have approval or a date yet. I'm thinking it will be in September. I am worried about how much work I will have to miss since I work at a school...every day matters. But I know, my health comes first. Best of luck next week. What are you doing about your husband/family's food?

yes, I am feeling the same way. I just started a thread asking if others were on the pre-op emotional teeter-totter.

I think we all feel basically the same...it was a long road that got us here, and there is a sharp turn just up ahead..

yay for us!

Thank you for the good thoughts and words. I appreciate them. This time next week...

As for husband, kids and food, I'm a very lucky woman. My husband is retired and does all of the cooking and cleaning etc. I will just sit with them and drink my clear broth!! mmmm

One really awesome thing today is that my clean just washed jeans are too big. I like them to be a bit tight so my belly doesn't show so much. Today they are baggy. Without me wearing them!!! It was a really good moment.

Have a great day/weekend.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
