I had my surgery two days ago, July 20, by Dr Robert Shin. I have five very small incisions which are sore but tolerable, a little nausea and still feeling sort of wiped out.

I am having a real hard time getting miniumum of 60 gms of Protein in on this full liquid diet week. I am drinking Protein Drinks and adding some protein to cream of chicken Soup. Any other suggestions?

Congratulations on your surgery. I am glad you are doing well. Maybe you could get some unflavored Protein things - like I know that this stuff called Unjury is high protein and it has an unflavored kind. Mix it with your Water or tea or whatever you are drinking. You won't even be able to taste it. You can buy it off the internet at unjury website

Congrats on your surgery! I was banded on the 16th and I'm facing the same issue. These are some great suggestions! I will try both.

I am two days out and am having the same issue. I am just not hungry enough to get down that much Protein. I am getting most of my protein from the Unjury chocolate (20 grams protein per scoop) and 2 cups of skim milk (16 grams protein). it doesnt taste too bad at all. I had horrible luck with the unflavored and juice.< /p>

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
