Recommended Posts

Hi, new here! I was banded on June 16th. I have lost 24 lbs. so far, but I got my 1st fill two wks. ago and I haven't lost any weight since my fill. I have an appointment to see my dr. this coming Fri, but I just wanted to see if this has happened to anybody else. thanks!

You got your first fill much earlier than me - I had to wait 6 weeks. I'm guessing you are just still healing. It takes a while for our bodies to recover from surgery. As long as you are following your doctors instructions regarding food portions, eating healthy, getting your Water in, and exercising some I wouldn't worry about it, but would just give your body more time.

I'll be anxious to hear what your doctor has to say. Let us know! Maybe someone will come along who has experienced the same thing though.

Yes, I think it happens to most of us. Each fill will bring you closer, but on average it takes four fills to really start seeing results.

Yep! I just posted in another similar thread...I have only had one fill to 4cc in a 10cc band, I feel like I am hungry all the time and I haven't lost any weight since getting the fill...I brought my appointment for my second fill forward because I've been so worried about not losing any weight....I just can't wait to get to that spot where I will be losing weight continuously (if there is such a thing).

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
