Getting restriction with 14cc band

Recommended Posts

I think I have a large 14cc band (my doctor doesn't remember) Great doc huh. Anyways, does anyone have this size band and at what point were they restricted. I have 6cc and feel no restriction yet.

I too found out at my 2 week post op (last Friday), I have a 14cc band too. I was told some Fluid was put in during surgery, which I could feel first week, but they dont know how much. When I go for my fill on the 31st, they will remove all Fluid, and replace so they know how much I will actually have. They said they will do this each time.

How much was your first fill? The full 6 cc?

Hello, I also have a 14cc lapband AP large....I had my first fill on 7/14 and I got a total of 3.5cc's...It was fine that day and maybe a day or two after, I felt like I did just after surgery....but now I feel like I can eat more (not as much as before surgery) but more than I would like too.....I do have to learn to recognize when the band tells me to stop eating....I notice I get an irritating feeling in my chest area if I eat too much. I'm hoping that another fill or two will get me to my "sweet spot!".....

1st fill 7/14 3.5ccs

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
