Help, I AM AT 7CC AND STILL CAN EAT ANYTHING???/

Recommended Posts

I am with you girl! I too have 7cc in mine. At first I was thrilled, I thought this is it but after a few days the feeling went away. I still think I can eat more than I should. I try very hard not to. It is disgusting as heck sometimes. My last visit, my doc would not do a fill because I had lost five pounds but since my visit I have not lost anymore. I would love to think my scales are lying to me...lol.

Well I have a 4cc band and Im at 4cc, I really don't know if this is it or not. I just had my 5th fill last Thursday and I usually can't eat much or keep much down, but then other times I can eat a little more than I think I should be able to. My fill center said that if this does not do it they will do a fill under floro because there is usually more room than you think. I wish I really knew what the "sweet spot" felt like, I don't know if this is it or not.

Any suggestions are welcome

Bernadette

I am at 8.6 and can eat anything I chew up very well!! I was at 9.0cc and Was in a difficult spot some things went down fine and some did not. I chewed everything ver well. So he took out .4cc so now I am back eat anything as long as I chew well. I eat from a Breakfast plate meat portion is about the size of a deck of cards and my veggie is what ever will go down and feel ok, and my DH says I am piggin out... Over about 2months I have gained about 1.5 lbs. I will admit to a little more splurging and a little less exercise. But my next appt I hope to get .2cc put back in and this should take care of any extra cravings. only 10 lbs from goal. So remember your "sweet spot" will change as you lose more wt and your stomach wall loses more fat. I was banded 1/18/08, so I am 1.5 yr post-op. Hang in there, get adjusted to your new life, you will still have to keep those food monsters under control, very much worth it though...

I believe I am at my sweet spot with 6cc in a 10cc band. How does it feel? Not at all like I expected, that's for sure.

I realize that it's not a feeling of STOP STOP STOP because that feeling is way past full. But most of us have had a successful career of eating past full. I try to eat 3 oz of Protein, some vegetables (raw and/or cooked), and a single serving of whole grain carbs. Then I just quit. I've discovered that what is important is that I do not feel hungry for 4 hours or so. That's where you need to be. Not where eating a reasonable amount makes you feel like you ate a foot long sub.

I think I always subconsciously expected that "restriction" and "full" would feel like "no way could I eat more" but (at least for me) I'm discovering I was expecting something that wasn't going to happen. Can I eat more? You betcha! Have I? Oh yeah. And I very quickly go from the average meal to "oh my belly hurts". It's not worth it to be uncomfortable so I'm learning to quit when I'm ahead, LOL.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
