Carla79 0 Posted July 21, 2009 Hi everyone, So I am at the tail end or the very beginning ( depending on how you look at it:) I am getting banded on Aug. 6th . I got my authorization and I am meeting today with the dietitian to discuss my pre-op diet. I am getting soo scared and soo excited. I can't imagine how life will feel after ( holidays, day to day, ) and I am VERY nervous about taking care of my 2 year old twins and 4 year old daughter post op. Any suggestions??? I would love some encouragement :bored:
FailureIsntAnOption 0 Posted July 21, 2009 Recovery is pretty quick as the surgery is a pretty simple procedure. The main thing is don't do any heavy lifting for I think 4 weeks post-op. This would include lifting your toddlers. Be sure to tell your surgeon you have small children so he/she can advise you about lifting. Good luck! You will not regret your decision. skinny31 0 Posted July 22, 2009 I am also a mother of twins boys - 6 years old and a 12 month old boy and am being banded on Aug. 5th. Had my pre-op appt today and start my diet tomorrow. I asked about lifting today b/c of my 12 month old and he said it would be uncomfortable to lift, but wouldn't cause any damage...he's 27 pounds! I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. Have you joined the August 2009 Forum? Look it up!
FailureIsntAnOption 0 Posted July 22, 2009 If I were you I would check into the lifting thing more thoroughly because it was made very clear to me in the post-op instructions not to do any lifting.
