I'll be glad when I can........

Recommended Posts

Now that we are in or around our 8 month of banding I felt the need to come back to this thread. SO

I'll be glad when I can...

*Celebrate 100lbs lost

*hit 260 so I can go make-up shopping (my reward)

*lose 10 more pounds so I can fit a skirt i just bought

*feel comfy on my next plane ride to NYC

*see the look on my in-laws faces when they see the change LOL

hopefully by then (Sept) i will be closer to 200 than 300. the last time they saw me i was in the 290's.

now that we have lost a few pounds im sure our lists have changed a little. so from my previous list i CAN:

*walk longer than 30 mins without my legs hurting

*just go shopping for smaller clothes period

*run around with my 4 y/o for longer than 5 mins

I will be glad when...

1) I am in ONDERLAND.

2) I can wear sleeveless tops.

3) I can be comfortable wearing a bathing suit in public.

4) I can complete a 5K walk/run.

5) I can wear clothing that doesnt have to be bought in a plus size store.

6) I can ride ANY ride at Kings Island or Cedar Point.

7) I can cross my legs while sitting at a table.

8) I don't have to stand so I don't have to risk breaking a chair.

9) I control my food instead of vice versa.

10) I can look in a mirror and like what I see.

- Not be the token friend, you know the funny one with the "cute face"...

- tie my own shoes without gasping for air adnahving to take a break between shoes

- wear cute clothes

- not have the joint pain I have

- and know that Im not going to be the "fat" grandma that cant play with her grandkids (when I get them)

- and most importantly for me... feel good about who I am on the inside as well as the outside

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
