I was banded on March 31st. I have had 3 fills and I'm losing weight. The only thing that I am having problems with is one day I can eat fine, the next day, everything I eat comes back up. I can keep my fluids down, but on my 'bad' days everything I try to eat sits right in my chest until I cough it up. Even stuff like pudding that should slide right down. Does anyone else have this problem? It is honestly an every other day occurance since my last fill 2 weeks ago.

Thanks!

OMG, I wish I knew the answer. I was banded on 3/30/09. I have had 3 fills (last Wed was my third). I had to go back Friday for a .8 cc unfill. I am exactly the same way. Some days, I can eat fine; some days I can't. I can't even pinpoint the type of food. Very frustrating. I am PB'ing way to much! I know it's not good for me, and I worry about damage. I just don't know how to control it. Best of luck to you. If you find the answer, let me know. :crying: God Bless You!^_^

I have had a simular problem. One day I can eat just fine and then not... It's almost like it is swollen. I am very tight, but not too tight.

But like you there are days, that everything seems to come back up. On those days, I will resort to a high Protein drink. The too tight days are getting less and less... I'm under the impression that as I loose weight that my band will loosen as the fat around my tummy decreases. I talked with my surgeon and we both agreed, just to let me be very tight and to naturally let the band looses and I loose weight.

Best wishes and hope if gets better... did for me.

It sounds like you are too tight. You should make an Appt to see your doctor as soon as possible to go over these symptoms with him/her.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
