I've lost the thread we had so I wanted to start another one. Just wanted to be able to check in and see how everyone is going with their weight loss so far. I had my first fill about a month ago now to 4cc but haven't lost any weight since! :wink2: I'm getting a little discouraged.

...I haven't been doing too well with eating the "correct" healthy foods so I'm starting fresh today. I've had some yoghurt for Breakfast and for lunch I intend on having some cruskits with a slice of cheese and Tomato on top which I love. My hardest time is after dinner, I've always been an "after 7pm snacker" so that is tough. I bought some milo today so I'm going to try having a hot cup of that tonight which will hopefully hold the hunger off.

How is everyone else doing? Do you have any food issues with what you can/can't eat? How has your weight loss been going?

Hi. I'm glad I am not alone. I lost 11 pounds 2 weeks post op and have not lost anymore. I've had 2 fills. I have 3.5ccs in my band. Honestly, I'm ok with the slow loss. I am a teacher and I do not want most people to know I had WLS. If I go back to work with obvious weight loss, everyone will suspect that I had surgery. I have a long term goal set. I would like at least 20lbs lost by Thanksgiving. That is a reachable goal. Once I return to work it will be easier to stick to my eating plan. As of now I can eat anything. Nothing gets stuck.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
