I have a date scheduled for Aug 3. I have so many questions. . . .

First of all. . . my husband was recently layed off. . . permanently so I'm looking for a economical Protein Drink that is tasty. . . If I don't like it I'm probably not going to drink it.

How many of you have a hard time sticking to the fat free/sugar free goodies?

Im a Diet Mountain Dew addict. . . 5-8 cans a day. Okay I"m down to 2 now but aweful headaches.

What have you others turned to. . . I'm not a good Water drinker

Oh for exciting, you will soon be in for the best change of your life, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Ok, well first off I bought a flavorless Protein Powder from GNC-approx 8 bucks a container. I added that into whatever shakes I was making, choc., straw or vanilla. It went great with Carnation instant Breakfast which also had Protein in it and a good source of other Vitamins. As far as the Dt. Dew I was also a HUGE Dt. Dew drinker infact I drank just as much as you and I havent had a can in over 5 months. It will be different after surgery because the carbon didnt feel well in my stomach so it was easy to opt for Crystal Light, tea or Dt. Juices. Best of luck to you!

Diet Ocean Spray Cranberry, Crystal Light pink lemonade (tangy and kind of taste like it is carbonated but it isn't), Diet Snapple Green Tea.

Hi CarrieLynn, my surgery is August 3rd as well! We've started an August band group if you haven't seen it yet. Just wanted to make sure you knew that it existed. Many of us have begun the liquid diet - I started today. I'm doing slim fast, not sure that it's economical, but they taste okay.

Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
