Sharing my good news...

Recommended Posts

I went to the gym today for the first time since the week before my surgery. I've been working out nearly every day at home on my treadmill, but I was waiting for the 6 week mark to go to the gym and do a more rigorous workout. The day was today. It felt great.

The good news is that I tested my blood pressure while I was there. In fact, I did it 3 times over the course of my 2 1/2 hours there because I kept thinking "Surely, that can't be right." LOL

I am well below the hypertensive and pre-hypertensive levels. I AM IN THE NORMAL ZONE!!

It was 112/75.

It felt so damn good to see those numbers.

I share your joy!

Last week my dr also said that I am now in the NORMAL zone and is weaning me off my meds. I will be totally free of them in 2 weeks for the first time in years! Cholesterol is Normal too!

The Band has great benefits.

Just adding to this.... I am traveling for work this week. I wore a top that was size 14/16 yesterday!!!

I picked it up at Lane Bryant on clearance. I never try things on - I just figured it was a good find and I could wear it once I get to that size. Well, I tried it on at home and it FIT! Not too tight - it fit WELL. So I packed it and wore it yesterday and I felt so good all day. It looked so cute.

I have no scale this week while I'm out of town and it's making me nervous. LOL I'm just trying to be good so that when I get home, I'll be happy when I step on the scale.< /p>

Way to go, Linda! Isn't that such a great feeling? I did that this week also with a new pair of capris and a summer top. I didn't try them on, figuring that if they didn't fit now, they would soon, but sure enough, they fit perfectly! hooray! Good luck with the rest of your trip!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
