I am going on one this Wednesday....I am just thinking much smaller portions and slow way down. I am not planning on weighing my food while there but plan on being as good as possible. I will let you know how it goes once I get back.

Well, see that's where I reckon the band or sleeve is great. This is your life, not a diet, so you go, you enjoy yourself, but the portions are small. YOu can sample different foods, and enjoy the break from everyday life and have a drink or two.

You probably wont find you come back ANY heavier, and if you do, it'd only be a pound or two. Then you get back to everyday life and eating more in tune with what you should be doing most of the time.

I think its a mentality peculiar to the obese, to look at things like this as something scary with an inevitable loss of control. People who have never struggled with their weight probably dont even think about it, let alone worry about it. I think that's a large part of overcoming obesity - learning to think like a thin person. Which is not "how can I continue to deprive myself in the face of temptation", but probably not giving food any real thought at all, focussing on the holiday instead.

Enjoy your cruise!

I have been on a cruise and BOY do they have great food!!! If I were you I would go on the cruise and have fun, don't stress out about the food or the weight. If you swim or gets walking in everyday it will counter act the food you are eating. The best thing would be to get in the pool and do some laps, or just jump up and down and fan your arms in the Water that takes a lot of effort and will burn more calories. I used to teach swimming lessons so if I sound like an infomercial sorry!! Just have a great time, one week in your life will not ruin everything you have done up till then.

All the cruise ships I've been on have had gyms. Hop on a bike or treadmill every morning. Also, the buffets are chock full of protiens and veggies...just stay away from the all-you-can-eat ice cream. Have a great time!

I just went on one in March - No problems - Like Jachut says this isn't a diet - it's your new life - I made healthy food choices had a few treats and hit the gym and walked the stairs..

Pre banding I would have the hot & cold appertizers - then my entree and if it was lobster night I would ask for 2 tails - then dessert - then the midnight buffet...

For me dinner was perfect - had a little salad my entree and even dessert some nites - the diff between this time and prior cruises - I didn't clean my plate or ask for seconds

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
