Note: Gnawing your arm off too early after surgery can cause slippage. It is not recommended until safe to do so.

That is VERY VERY absolutely true. And once you have restriction you'll just PB if you gnaw off too much so it's best to just leave it be! :Dancing_wub:

Yes, according to my surgeon and the few things I've read, eating "ahead" of a post op diet is a major cause of slips. I've read posters on here who "cheated" and were back in the OR for repairs. If you don't "pop" the band loose immediately, you can cause the bond it forms to be weakened and subject to slips on down the road.

OR you can "get away with it". It's a roulette wheel spin. Most of us, once we realize how darned important that ONE diet is in all the diets we have had in our lives, manage to stick it out. I think many people "cheat" because they just plain were not educated about why it matters to much.

bump bump bump

I think, like pushing an elevator button 100 times instead of once, this doesn't really HELP...but if it makes you feel good then I guess you go, girl!

This is going to sound SO Pizzy! LOL

But sometimes I don't post because you did that bump thing and I don't want you to think that's why I did.

SIGH! No I'm not ocd, not anal, not adhd. Controlling maybe? Probably!

Anyway you push the elevator button lots if you want. I do when no one is around. It's a form of rebellion for me!

I am 5 days post op and having hunger pains head and stomach . i do feel satisfied if i drink my Protein shake every hour . maybe you need to up your Protein shakes thats what will keep you from being hungry. good luck hang in there. I keep telling myself not to mess up diet because I dont want slippage ot erosion to be a problem .

Did your surgeon recommend that? I read through my paperwork and it seems one of the concerns is taking in too many calories that way.

I'm only four days post-op, and while I'm not hungry much, I had visions of tacos, Beans, chalupas, and nachos:ohmy: dancing in my head during Days of Our Lives.

Weirdest thing.

I have been having dreams that I ate a cookie someone offered me and then freaked out because I was going to screw up my band. It's funny really, not.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
