SummerAgain 0 Posted July 19, 2009 I'm sorry your having a bad experience on here. I'm new too, and I have found people to be super supportive! Someone very wise once told me..."In order to HAVE a good friend, you have to BE a good friend." Loosely translated for this forum...maybe you can "meet" a few people on here by offering a kind word...lending some support...joining a group. NOT just looking for YOUR needs to be met and questions answered! I wish you the best of luck...turn that angst into determination and NOTHING will stop you!! als74 1 Posted July 19, 2009 I also read through her previous posts, and they are posted in sections I don't typically read. The web site has changed, and now there are so many sub-categories, I really only go to three or four. I rarely go to pre or post surgery anymore, since I have been out 7 months now. And her titles were a bit obscure, so I doubt I would check them. Sorry her attitude and experience are negative, and I hope that does not deter other newbies:blush:
karenv 0 Posted July 20, 2009 Not to repeat what others have already said but they're right about the fact you got to give it a chance. Many of us have dealt with weight issues and ridicule. I've found that as you read different post, your questions can be answered. I was banded 6/3/09 and just found a post that talked about what I was experiencing but I didn't know how to word it. That post made a HUGE difference in how I look at the band. Do what you can to make this website work for YOU. YOU are whats important. You are welcome to talk to me as often as you need, we're all in this together.

GlenSand 1 Posted August 18, 2009 "It does not demonstrate an impenetrable cliquishness on the board" I really like this quote. I laughed out loud! This board of ladies is awesome!
SanDiegoPhotog 0 Posted August 18, 2009 I found that when I posted a question at night, if I went to bed, I woke up in the morning to several answers to my question. So, my suggestion is to sleep on it before freaking out!
