Eat anything you want- just be mindful that you've come so far and you don't want to sabotage yourself. Save some money and don't order anything- just ask the person/people you are with to give you 1 bite of what they have. So, a bite of a hotdog, fries, ice cream-whatever is fine. But try to make good choices, of course. Water instead of soda or juice and veggies/protein instead of fried stuff.

Have fun in the sun! I've not made it to Myrtle this year, weird.

Hi, I just got back from Myrtle Beach last week. My hubby and i went and what worked for me was I let him order and I either ate a small portion of his (sharing can save alot of $$), or I ordered the Soup and salad. My hubby was very considerate and ordered things he knew I could eat. I ate broiled seafood (very good Protein source), Soups, veggies and mashed potatoes. So, maybe youcan talk whoever is going with you into shating with you. Good luck and have a great time. We go to MB about 4 times a year, so let me know if you have any ?s.

I was just wondering this myself! Except I usually go to Topsail NC, and it's like a 12 hour drive. I was trying to think of good choices at the fast food drive thrus we'd inevitably be going through

That's awesome! We looove North Topsail, been going since I was a kid. We're booking our home next week for 2010's vaca - we're serious about it lol

I'm a peds nurse and would love to move around that area sometime late next year. I know New Hanover hospital in Wilmington has recently opened a new pediatric unit in the hospital, but other than that I don't know of many pediatric hospital/units near the cost. My understanding is that the big places to take the kids are Chapel Hill and Raleigh?

I live in Carthage, which is an hour from from both Chapel Hill and Raleigh, and I too am a nurse. I am an LPN, working n my RN. If you want any suggestions, just let me know. BTW, as far as traveling, we ate at KFC and I ate mashed potatoes, slaw and corn. Ate at MCD's and had the parfait and a burger without the bread. Taco Bell, refried Beans. Subway, had them make me a sub without the bread (they put it in a salad bowl for you). If you have anyother questions, just let me know. My e-mail address is mmarsh4@yahoo.com, I aslo have a Facebook and myspace.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
