Going back to work as a waitress after a week?

Does this seem possible to you that have already been banded? My doc said as long as I do not lift any heavy trays I should be fine. Tell me what you think.

I agree with your doctor. I was able to do a lot one week post-op. The port site incision will be the most painful, the others are barely noticeable. I couldn't lift heavy items or I would feel severe pulling at my port site. I could bend but had to be a little careful with it. Walking was no problem. Listen to your body and if you feel pain, stop what you were doing to cause the pain. Otherwise, keep moving.

maybe if you were able to take lots of breaks! and don't forget to sip some Water all day long. gonna be kinda tough while you're waiting on tables, but if you're careful and don't overdo it...

best of luck!

Thanks for the responses guys! I will remember to drink throughout my shift as I always do I hope. I only work for 4-5 hours max at a time. I hope I'm ok cause I really need the money.

Im so nervous about Monday!!!

Youll be really tired at the end of your shift but at least its only four hours. If it was six or eight Id say youd never make it. You will prob need to take breaks and rest. Good luck and I hope you get lots of big tips!

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
