Have you hit your Green Zone "Sweet Spot"

Recommended Posts

I have a question for those of you who have hit the green zone. You have the right restriction and are losing weight. What does it feel like? IS there pain with eating or swallowing? Are you able to eat solids (in small bites, of course.) Please let me know.

Thanks:thumbup:

Echo that - no pain unless eating too fast/not chewing enough/not paying attention. Ever.

I am tighter in the AM and do not want to eat solids until 10 am or so - but I didn't before banding, either. Not being able to eat solids would be red zone, not green. Best thing about green zone = no obsessing about food - its mealtime again before you even think about it. My green is fleeting though - I keep losing it as I lose weight, and have to get a little fill to get green again. But when its good, its AWESOME! Good luck on your journey!

I believe that I'm at my sweet spot after a year of fills and unfills. I am definitely tighter in the mornings through early afternoon. Very minimal throwing up as well.

Yes, me me me! :scared2:

And no pain. I can eat solds am/pm, no problem. I don't have to take tiny bites, either, although my bites are about 1/2 to 2/3 the size that I used to take. I DO chew things really really well (about 40 chews per bite; yes sometimes I count just to entertain myself while I'm chewing things to mush). It took a good deal of tinkering to get here, but it is WORTH it. And I CAN eat anything including white bread, chicken, red meat, etc. I get full after about 1 cup of some things, a little less or more of others. Stay full for 5-6 hours. It is wonderful.

I'm there too -- 2.85 ccs in my 5 cc band did the trick! No pain at all, and I can eat enough so that I don't look weird when I'm out to dinner with people who don't know I am banded. I could be better about not drinking with my meals though!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
