Parvathi 2 Posted September 22, 2005 Okay, so I found a pair of jeans in the closet that I haven't worn in .. we'll, I'm not sure if I've ever worn them actually. I bought them, but they were too tight and I did the ole, "Oh, well they'll fit when I lose weight" thing lol. Five years later... So I put them on this morning and they fit. Actually, they were loose, but that's okay. What I'm trying to figure out is, these jeans are a size 16, from Lane Bryant, circa 2000 (think, before stretch demin was invented - they've got no give). So I'm wondering if they're a true 16 or if they're an off size. Anyone an expert of circa 2000 Lane Bryant sizing issues? hehe
nesstg 0 Posted September 22, 2005 Yes! Unfortunately Lane Bryant is about one size off on everyone else, I just bought a size 14 pair of jeans that fit a little snug from there, but when I tried Old Navy I was a 16 or 18, depending on the cut. And as far as I know its always been that way, even in 2000. But doesn't it feel good to put something on that used to be tight and is now too loose?!!! You go girl!:Bunny
the best me 6 Posted September 23, 2005 Is it a 16 or a 16W? That seems to make a difference. The W sizes are cut a tad fuller. Good job though! Wow!
princess_n_thep 2 Posted September 23, 2005 For me.... Lane Bryant sizes tend to be a bit wider to make room for more "womanly" bodies rather than a 14 or a 16 made for a girls body. Makes room for hip action for me. So I think Lane Bryant is more "true" whereas non catering to plus size stores run a bit small for the size.
Parvathi 2 Posted September 23, 2005 Thanks everyone I can fit into my old 14's from there as well, but they're stretch denim lol. Course, this time last year I was wearing a 24 from there, so I'm happy with a
