OK Kim and Loretta, called the office today to ask about a capsil medication I take. I also asked about the day before if I needed to be on clear chicken broth type stuff all day.

Val, called back and said that I should not be eating cream of whatever soups! Whats the deal with this?

When I spoke with Bobbi she siad they were ok but that I should stop the milk and puddings the last few days.

Kim what did you do?

Loretta what did he tell you yesterday?

Am I feaking out just to freak out? My anxiety is at a 20 on a scale of 1-10.

Who is Val? The sunday before my surgery I was told nothing but Clear liquids...broths, SF Jello, popcicles, I had wonton Soup w/o the wonton. I wasn't told anything about milk products nor about cream Soups. I say as long as you are staying @ 800 - 900 calories are good to go except the day before surgery. I talked to Christen several times and Bobbi about what I was doing and they were fine with how I did it. I lost some weight and the surgery went great. Calm down and enjoy these last few days.

I had my second fill monday and today @ lunch was the first time I was able to eat anything granted it was refried Beans and cheese but it was good and I didn't start PBing.

Hang in there and we will see you saturday.

Wow, your doc's are really conservative. I probably shouldn't tell you that I didn't have a diet pre-surgery, except nothing to eat or drink after midnight before surgery. I had a pretty large late last supper the night before in a fancy french bistro in Mexico. Just goes to show you how different this process can be from one person, or even one doctor to the next.

I can't imagine what milk products could cause during surgery, maybe the lactic acid, or nausea in general would be a problem. Are they trying to have you lose some weight pre-surgery? Cream Soups are pretty high calorie. My suggestion is to follow your doc's advice. If you aren't sure on reasoning, call them and respectfully ask. You need to be an informed patient so you can be comfortable with the whole process. If you let questions go unanswered you may not make the best possible choices for yourself. Good Luck Monday is right around the corner!

Hey Dianne, calm down.... you're doing just fine. I wasn't told not to have any milk products, heck I'm drinking CIB everyday 5 times and day. Girl you are down to the wire and 3 more days to go. I'm right behind you and I can't wait. I'll see you guy on Saturday. Take Care

OK I'm calming..lol...trying to keep that sense of humor straight!. Cleaning the dogs bed, refrig, doing laundry, pacing. I have to go to the store and by stuff to wear at the hosp and home like a new BR!

Made more pudding this morning. Those little cups you get when you buy ready made Jello are great!

Garry want to go to on opening of a bar/resturant of some old friends of ours tonight. I know he'll be mad if I say don't want to go, bt I really don't! I'd rather stay home and organize my life! Plus I'm not gonna drink or eat!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
