Hi all-

My doctors have me on so many different meds and Vitamins that my head is spinning!! I just wanted to see if most of you have the same instructions.

I understand the Multivitamins and Calcium for life. I am on 2 Centrum chewables and 3 Extra Strength Tums until I get to solids when I will probably switch to Viactiv for the Calcium.< /p>

I am also on Pepcid AC for 3-6 months, Atigall for 3-6 months, and I have Reglan for my little bouts with nausea (hasn't been too bad). I am also currently on liquid Vicodin- 7 days post-op and I am stretching it as much as I can before I take every dose (I am at 6-7 hours between doses now).

Does this seem like a lot?? I feel like a walking pharmacy :-)

Nope, that seems about right. I was on precrip form Prilosec for two months but at a month and a half I was having NO acid problems so I asked my doc if I could stop taking it. But take it now because at first when you are banded your tummy makes as much acid as it did before. It has to adjust to the new smaller tummy. So with all that acid you would get reflux REALLY bad. Take the Pepcid for at least a couple months then see.

Also, be careful with the Reglan. I also got that prescribed but if you look at the number one side effect? Nausea. Weird. My sis took that stuff and had a TERRIBLE reaction so be careful. However, if you feel nausous be extra careful, now is not the time to throw up.

With the Vicoden, take it as long as you need it. Pain management is a VERY CRUCIAL part of healing. You'll know when to stop.

I also am on Actigall...that is a longer term thing for when you are losing because losing a lot of weight can mean gallstones and you REALLY REALLY want to keep your gallbladder!

So it looks like you are on all the same stuff I am!!
