I cant really feel mine because Im so fluffy. lol I can feel in from the inside when I lay on my left side. My Dr told me that my port would be in the incision that was the longest and I think they told me where that incision would be, not sure on that part though. When I saw the incisions I knew about where the port was.

I figured since I am larger maybe that was why I cant feel it.. I thought I found it on my right side but they said no... its on the left. Are fills harder when you cant feel it?

My fills arent too bad. My last fill my Dr had to try twice before she found my port but she mentioned that she draws pictures to know where to poke and my chart didnt have one yet. From my memory if she pokes in the same place she gets it right on.

It's funny you should ask. I thought I would be able to tell where mine was by the incision, but I'm not sure. I have a general idea where it "could" be, but I'm afraid to press. :)

All of the literature shows the port being on the left or right up around the rib cage right? My largest incision is about 4" above my bellybutton smack dab in the middle of my belly. I should find out tomorrow at my post op where the sucker is.

I'm 8 days post op and two days ago I spent half the day gently trying to figure it out. I'm not fluffy in my abdomen and still can't find it. I hope my doc knows!!!

i'm 9 days out too and i know where mine is...it's definately the biggest incision...i'm only questioning if i'm feeling in the right spot because under a few of the smaller incisions it's bumpy...which i know is from the healing and whatnot...but at least it doesn't hurt to press on it! lol

It feels like a hard ball the size of a golf ball, it usually sits below your ribs on right or left. It can be tender to touch or when you use abdominal muscles, although some people have no tenderness. Hope it helps

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
