help!!!!

I had my band on 4/9/2009 and as of todays date I have only lost a total of 26 pounds. I go for my 3rd fill next week and I am starting to get depresses because I thought I would have lost more weight by now. I walk and I use my Gazelle for exercise but the weight isnt going anywhere can someone suggest something I can try different or is this the norm for weight loss?

I have lost 32 since dec 9 2008 -- I have a 1.5 fill after 2 fills - I am on dialysis and can not drink all the fluids --

you are doing great in my opinion -- I am not sure what a 1.5 fill is or if it is much of a fill

Maybe you guys should stop weighting yourselfs, and try other tips from lapbanders, some lapbanders don't loss much on the first year, but you still loss weight it works, 32 or 35 pounds is good. Try exercise, walk everyday, drink protiens more often, drink alot of Water daily. See the dieticion for tips on what to eat.

Don't let yourself get depressed or give up on early stages. different people loss differently from eachother but we all will make it at the end specially if we keep up with the hard work. REMEMBER lapband is a toll and we got to work hard on it.

I haven't been banded yet, but hopefully by 11 of August 09 i will be. :) Im scared but im fighting to loss weight even if i loss as little as 32 pounds, i will still fight to loss more.. :)

It sounds like you are doing really well actually. That's a healthy weight loss for the first few months. I haven't had the surgery yet but I do know lots about depression in any form. Make sure you are following the meal plan as best as you can, get a lot of Protein and Water and fruits and veggies. Also you say you are walking which is awesome but maybe try walking a little further or a little faster each day because it's been proven that Exercise raises seratonin levels and makes you feel better. Lastly make sure you are sleeping 7-8 hours a night. Being healthy this way helps you stay on track. Don't get discouraged.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
