Urghhhh...Stupid Oreo Cookies!

Recommended Posts

Why did I just eat 5 Oreo Cookies? I hate myself right now. I just couldn't say no. I've been so good, but right now I feel so discouraged. Will I be strong enough to make this lifestyle change permanent?

Dont beat yourself up. None of us are perfect and we've all done similar things. Now that you've eaten them just be done with it. And don't feel guilty. That will just set you up to eat worse tomorrow. This journey isn't always easy but it is so worth it!!

It's hard...we all make mistakes.

You're in the weird stage of things when you are probably not restricted enough. It will come.

Don't dwell on it. It happened and you can't make it unhappen. Move on. If you feel really bad about it, maybe use it as a learning experience and make a plan as to what you want to do instead next time. Like say you get a craving for something like that again, have something in place to distract yourself. Or maybe put some low cal popsicles in the freezer if you ever want something sweet.

As Enchanted said, maybe you need a fill right now. Monitor your intake for a while and see if you're overeating more frequently.

Thanks Ladies for your words of encouragement! I wish I could blame it on my need for a fill, but I just had my first one last week. This was a total craving (all in my head) issue. I wasn't even hungry, but the Cookies got me. Like you all said, I'm just going to move past it and make a better choice next time I feel the urge.

I agree. I might get bashed for saying this but I don't think people trying to lose weight should completely cut themselves off from Cookies or anything like that. It just makes it worse when you actually get some and you devour the whole box or something. Allow yourself some small treats once a week, once every couple days, or whatever and Celebrate what you're accomplishing.

5 oreos? Kudos for stopping there. Shoot back in the day I could eat the whole row in a package. Don't beat yourself up. Pick yourself up and throw away the rest of the oreos. lol.

5 oreos is about 267 cals. do some extra excercise, and thank yourself for not eating the whole bag.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
