I want to say a special shout out to B and to let you know that I will wish you nothing but a speedy recovery. Be sure and warm Dr. B up real well for me and may both our surgerys go smooth as silk. MaseAnn, may your surgery go smooth as well! I look forward to being on the losing side very soon!!! I am thankful I found this board, you guys rock!!

YEAHHHHHH KERI!!!!! Oh Keri you are going to love the mixed cocktails. Once they put it in your IV you will be in la la land and when you wake up there will be ice chips with your name on them. Ummmmmm you are going to be amazed at how good you feel after surgery, just real druggy so don't fight it and go back to sleep

May God stay with you, our prayers are with you.

Congratulations, Keri!! You'll do fine - just make sure to rest up while you have a chance (if your house is anything like mine you can't rest at home lol) I'll send some happy thoughts your way

Let us know how you went, when you're feeling up to it.

This is my first post, so most of you don't know me. I only found this site about a week ago, but boy have I learned a ton from all of your posts. Kari and I will both be banded tomorrow. I'm so happy to have met a band buddy through this site. My procedure is at 7:30, so I'm getting the doc all warmed up for Kari! I hope to post some more after I get back on my feet.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
