Something's gone wrong...

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure what has happened, but I'm bleeding internally, a LOT, starting today. I went to the doctor today who ran some tests but couldn't quite see what has happened. She said I was okay to go home tonight but if I have to go to the bathroom more than once every 1/2 hour to come to the E.R. I'M SO WORRIED! I don't feel pain in my stomach at all, but I think something has happened! I exercised last night. Could that have done anything? I was just on the elliptical machine for 1/2 hour and on the bike for 15 minutes.

I'm sorry to hear that things aren't well.. Are you bleeding during bowel movements or is it just coming out? Did your doctor do lab tests to check your different blood levels? Did your doctor give the bleeding a name? Like Upper GI/Lower GI bleeding???

It's coming out in my urine, causing terrible spasms in my bladder. It could also be coming out during bowel movements, I'm not sure. My doctor did lab tests and my blood levels are apparently OK, I guess. She didn't say much about it. She didn't mention Upper GI or Lower GI, so I'm not sure about that either. I had an X-Ray done and then a CT scan on my kidney and both showed no stone. I have to go to my band doc tomorrow so he can do tests to see if it relates to the band. Not sure what he's going to do. I'm almost certain it has to do with the band, though.

So sorry to hear about your trouble. I would be very concerned too! I have heard that most Dr.'s check the gall bladder while they are doing the surgery. Perhaps they didn't see a stone in there.

You are in my prayers and keep posting to let us know how you are doing and what the doctors say.

While I don't have any advice to offer, just wanted to say I hope everything goes okay. Let us know what your band doc says, please...

Wow, that doesn't sound good. You were only banded a week ago? Maybe it's surgery related, as opposed to band-related. Exercise shouldn't be a problem, but perhaps you tried to do a little too much, too soon. Take it easy, you're still healing!!

Please let us know what your docs say. Good luck!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
