IrBaileyzMa 0 Posted July 13, 2009 Hi, I am Stacey. I just wanted to introduce myself. I am 27 and 3 days post op. I am eager to start and continue life after the surgery. Just to give you a little background...I am a former athlete turned couch potato. I can't believe I let it happen either! Coming out of high school about 9 years ago, I weighed approximately 90lbs less than my pre-op weight. I was a year-round, non-stop athlete who was always a little big, but my height and muscle accounted for most of it. The last 9 years has been a whirlwind of failed diets and additional pounds. I can no longer enjoy the sports I use to, or even just keeping up with my friends. My journey at this point has been one of "pride". As in I was too proud to admit I needed help. It wasnt until about a year ago, when I was diagnosed with a fertility and hormonal disorder, that I realized this would be a good option. All of a sudden, getting the weight off was 10x's more difficult. I found the drive I needed and finally admitted I needed help. My wonderful husband has been such an amazing support system in regards to me getting healthy, so that has helped make this process a whole lot easier. I look forward to hearing about your journeys just as much as I am eager to share mine!
