:unsure:Hi I am new to this website and looking for a good support group that can help me with the ups and downs of the journey.

I have had almost no pain, I think I took pain medication 2 times since being released.

Alot of you are talking about taking in protien the first 1 -5 days. I drink Special K protien Water but nothing else, but broth, that water, sugar free Jello and as much water as I can..

Should I be doing more?

Does anyone have a MAJOR growling stomach. I am not hungry, but the sounds of my stomach you think I was dieing.

I am 3 days post op and I know what you are going through. My pain has been minor and localized to the site of the port. Its getting much better already. My experience tells me that different surgeons request or recommend different liquids immediately post op. My surgeon recommends Protein shakes that have a high Protein and low sugar content. I have been relying on Jello, Water, crystal light, and Protein Shakes. I am not a big broth person, so I am still trying to get myself into that one. I have not been able to consume even 1/2 of what they recommend bc of gas. Did you have that problem?

It sounds like you are doing everything right. Just follow your surgeon's advice.

Hey! I am six days post-op, and the gas nearly killed me for the first four days after surgery! I didn't think it would EVER go away, but finally it starting letting up a bit. Something that helped me a lot was the Gas-X and Phazyme Gas reduction strips that you put on your tongue and let dissolve. That was a major help.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
