Easily fatigued and Dizzy.. What's wrong here??

Recommended Posts

I am a week out of surgery and I am still not @ wk yet. Infact, i sleep most of the day and when i walk out to get the mail i feel winded. I am also dizzy after walking. i am on HBP med's and I have been doing well on them until now. I wonder if it's dehydration or the new RX for gallbladder?? If anyone knows anything between now and when i call the doctor tomorrow, i'd like to know..

You didn't say what you've been eating. Are you sure you are getting enough Protein and calories? You're post-op diet should include plenty of Protein Shakes and fruit juices, broth, etc. You need to make sure you get enough so that you don't get low in blood sugar. That's all I can think of. Do contact your doctor tomorrow and possibly the nutritionist. God Bless.

sounds like your blood pressure is dropiing, please let your doctor know, asap, they probably need to be titrated down. you need to keep a close check on your BP, by taking it at home, or going to the Dr. or a pharmacy to have it checked. hope this helps!

You probably should call your doc. If you are sleeping a lot and get winded after a short walk (and didn't before the surgery) you MAY have something a bit more serious than just adjusting to liquids only. I didn't even get Protein my first week and didn't feel like you do (and yes I know we're all different...but your symptoms 1 week post op sound a little severe). Call your doc to be on the safe side, ok?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
