One foot in One-derland

Recommended Posts

I've been waiting for so long, and now I'm on the fence, so I had to share. My progress shown on the bar below is based on my bathroom scale, its a good quality one and seems consistent. I've also been tracking my weight and looking at my BMI chart on the WII fit. They read a ltitle different, but both are consistent. This morning my bathroom scale has me at a new low of 201.5 and the WII fit has me at 199.9. I guess I'll wait for the bathoom scale for the official celebration. 1-2 weeks if I keep my recent pace.

Oh, the Wii had me with a goal of 195 by today, I didn't make that, so it suggested I set a new goal of a BMI of 22. I don't think so, I'll have to figure out what that is in pounds.

I figured out a BMI of 22 would be 170 pounds, which, unless I start running marathons, isn't likely. Speaking of which, on Facebook I made a joke about losing to Karen Carpenter in my last 5k, tacky yes, but I doubt anyone under 40 got the reference.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
