banded_for_life 2 Posted September 21, 2005 Yes, If someone needs a pet boarded or something like that I can certainly do that. I don't have any extra room, but will certainly be glad to help out with a pet. I do have 1 dog and 3 cats already...so one more won't make a difference. leatha_g 4 Posted September 21, 2005 I have a spare room at my house also. It's small, modest, but it's mine. I'm in McKinney - north of Dallas. Paula, Ginny, Lisa, Nancy, Marie - all my Houston area sisters, you know you're welcome if you need a place of refuge.

Lu Ann 0 Posted September 21, 2005 Hi all, I am just 100 miles East of Houston, and we are leaving for realives in North Louisiana too. The wind will be the big problem for us. Please pray for my son who is in League City, Tx...which is just 15 North of Galveston. He is the asst. police chief there, and has to stay to head up command posts. The rest of his family has gone to Dallas. I pray everyone will learn from Katrina, to take these storms very seriously, and leave. All the material things can be replace. Be safe, my friends! We will chat later.
paula 4 Posted September 22, 2005 They have just issued a mandatory evacuation for my area. In 2002, when hurricane Lily came, we stayed with some friends about 30 miles north of here. We had planned on going there again, IF we needed to evacuate. But from what we are hearing, that may not be far enough north. Please pray for all of us. Our school systems were closed yesteday (not going to reopen til Monday) for officials to use our school buses for transporting the Katrina survivors to more northern areas. They did this for safety concerns AND to allow our local residents a place of refuge, since many were stilll at our main shelters. Just a word to all of you - GET GAS NOW!!!!! This storm will certainly have SOME impact on the Houston refineries. Ultimately, this storm will affect most of you. what chaos. Leatha pmed me yesterday to offer a place of refuge for us - THANK YOU fom the bottom of my heart! And for all of you who have been so kind to offer shelter, big hugs and a genuine thank you! LBT, you never cease to amaze me. I love you all.
