Are you tired all the time?

Recommended Posts

I was banded on 3/2 and have lost about 55 pounds. I exercise 4-6 times a week for about 40-45 minutes at a time. I've been noticing in the last couple weeks that I am really tired in the late afternoon and evening. I'm getting 8-10 hours of sleep a night and work from home Monday-Friday. I eat 1100-1500 calories a day. I could lay my head down right now and take a nap! Has anyone else experienced this? What could it be? I should have more energy with the weight loss and did at first but not anymore...what's the deal? :smile2:

Honestly the first 5 weeks for me I was always tired and even now if I get woken up earlier than I usually get up I'm tired for the next couple of days until I can get those 2-3 hours back. Sometimes dehydration is a factor when we're tired but if you're really worried ring your surgeon and just ask what the g.o is on it.

I would definitely call your dr. I am still rather new to this but I wonder if perhaps you might need some labwork done to check out different levels. I am not in the medical field but I think low Iron can cause you to feel tired but I can't really expand on that or any other possible things- perhaps it would just require a slight modification in your diet to up some levels. I don't think that it would be considered the norm to be tired four months post lap-band surgery. Hope you get some answers and start to get more energy. Good job with the exercise despite feeling tired. I will think of you the next time I am thinking about skipping my workout!!!!

I agree, it's unlikely to be calorie related as you're doing great there. Exercise does make you more tired, and I sometimes feel like its counterproductive, but its more just my busy life that makes me weary in the late arvo.

but you could be low on Iron or B Vitamins or something.
