I will admit that I'm a stress eater and the amount of stress I've had the past four months has been unreal. That has translated to me eating more M&Ms and ice cream that I should.

However, finally, I have been exercising regularly for the past six weeks. Five days a week...first for 1/2 hour, the last two weeks at 45 minutes on a treadmill.

My last fill was March 20, at which time I dropped five pounds. I haven't lost anything since then. But here's the weird thing, I've dropped a dress size. Is my scale messed up? :smile2:

Your losing inches not weight...prob gaining muscle from working out. Ive gained three pounds but clothes are looser and I can tell Ive lost inches. Its common! Thats a good thing!!!

ive been hoovering arund the same weight for awhile now and people say they can see that i am still losing weight. What is happening I think is my body shape is changing because of my workout. Muscle and less fat. I figure as long as the clothes keep falling off me i'm doing something right. Keep up the good work

I asked about this at my last fill a week ago. I asked the nurse why the scale had only changed 2.5 pounds in 4 weeks, but my clothes were getting baggier. She explained it like this: If a pound of muscle is this big (held up one closed fist) then a pound of fat is THIS big (held up both closed fists together). I really needed that visual to understand this concept. That makes me much more content with NSVs!!! It's nice to know what exercise I do is paying off and changing that fat to muscle and taking up less space under my skin.

My wife has lost 120 lbs and saw exactly what you are describing several times on the way.

It is strange. When I saw my doctor this month the first thing he said is that I have lost a lot of inches. Today when I dressed for work I felt like I put on my big sisters pants a shirt and I don't even have a big sister. :tongue_smilie:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
