Just had my first fill ... feeling nauseous

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else experienced nausea after getting your first fill. It's been about an hour. I only had a Protein Shake for Breakfast hoping to avoid any unpleasant after effects. Looks like it backfired.

Anyone else experience anything like this?

Also, my doc has me on solid food after my fill. Most of the people on this forum say they have been on liquids and/or mushies for 1-2 days after their fills.

Feeling pretty crappy ... please help.

Thanks.

Yesterday was my 3rd fill and I'm feeling nauseous. I'm on liquids for 48 hours but this is the first time feeling sick to the stomach. So I do understand where you coming from hopefully we will feel better in a couple of days.:smile2:

I had my 4th fill today. I am always told to be on liquids for 24 hours and mushies for 1-2 days. I have not had any nausea yet.

maybe you need an unfill????

I'm one of those incredibly lucky people -- it takes something huge to nauseate me. My fills are no big deal as far as I'm concerned. After my first two fills, I could have solid food right away. After the third, it was up to me. For the 4th and 5th, I was told liquids for the rest of the day and then the day after was up to me.

I had the same experience after my first fill. It will go away after a few days. Till then take it easy with eating, dont push your self. Take smaller bites than you have and eat slower than before, remember each fill brings with it a new level of restriction.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
