For the past couple of days regardless of what I eat and how much I chew it keeps sticking for a few minutes and I get a throbbing pain under both breasts until it passes. I called my surgeon yesterday and she said to do what I could and if I needed to she would meet me at the hospital today for a slight unfill. I was actually able to eat normal food again last night with no problem. My last fill was May 20th. I'm wondering if this happens to anyone else? Can the band just get randomly tight like that?

When I think I have figured my band out, it changes. I know that during my TOM it becomes very restricted. I am normally more restricted in the mornings too.

Hi,

My band normal works like yours. But, in the last week, I have had some problems with food getting stuck/PBing. Has this happened to anyone else? Barb

food becoming stuck is a normal daily routine that happens to me. I'm not sure why. Maybe I take to big of a bite/don't chew well enough/or eat something that don't agree with my band/or maybe my band is to tight. I don't know. I have an appointment with my surgeon next month, so I will find out then.

I'm starting to wonder if acid reflux has anything to do with what my band is doing. I took some tums yesterday and ate at a cookout and was perfectly fine. I ate this afternoon long after I had been awake and I got the same kind of throbbing pain. Took some tums and ate later and I was fine again. It seems like if I don't take the tums it's painful all day.

if you're having trouble digesting food and you need to take tums, this may be a slipped band. have your surgeon check it out just to be on the safe side.

I already talked to her Saturday. She's not worried about it. It's not really trouble digesting it's just sometimes when I swallow it'll sit there for a second. I think it's taken care of now.

I have had the same issue. My band was fine after a fill in February, but suddenly has gotten so tight that I am at mostly liquids. I am having terrible reflux at night. I am going to see the surgeon tomorrow to see if the band has slipped (calling the surgeon was a tough call to make...I don't want anything to be wrong with my band). She mentioned that it could be if I had been sick, the stomach swells...although I haven't been sick. I am super bummed and am keeping my fingers crossed that all is well...or at least will be.

When I started this process, and went a support group meeting, the band was described as a fickle bitch. You could eat one day and then try the same food the next day and not get it down. So I sum any difficulties with restriction to that.

Having restriction and acid reflux are two different things. I am in reflux hell, and when I am feel hungry, I am making sure that I am not eating something that will aggravate it.

The surgeon's office gave me a prescription for the reflux but I am going to see my PCP on Friday to run the right tests.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
