Question about restriction

Recommended Posts

Well it's normal if you are too tight, or are REALLY stuck.

Some things other people have tried...I don't do Yoga but there is a yoga position Down facing dog or some such that people say works perfectly to "unstick you"...if you're bendy you could probably google it if you aren't a yoga person...

and some believe in sips of Water to help FORCE a PB and make the offending food come back

My kitchen sink is at the right heighth apparently to mash on my stomach and help me PB some, and in the early days if my husband would strike me sharply on the back between my shoulder blades (he enjoyed that immensely! LOL) it would help loosen things.

AND papaya enzyme helps digest Protein (it's a chewable pill I found mine at my local grocer's) but if you don't have any it won't do you any good tonight.

Others say raising their hands above their head helps...and a rare few just gag themselves ( I never ever could do that...never could've been bulimic but some people...it works) so ....

try some of those if you want. I know it's a miserable feeling!

Thanks, I think I will try all of those things. My aunt has some papaya enzymes, I may have to get those from her if it doesn't get better soon!

Thanks, I will let you know how I'm doing.

Just wanted to update you.

The pain didn't get any better through the night so I called my doctor. I went in at 10:00 this morning and he completely unfilled me so that I could rehydrate and he will do another fill a week from Monday. Hopefully close to where I was....I hated that part because that was the first time I had really felt restriction...but NOTHING is worth that kind of pain for that long! I am feeling much better, just a little sore throat from vomiting.

I was so thirsty by the time they unfilled me that I drank a ton of Water immediatley. I had never been that thirsty before.

Any way, thanks for all of your help and support. I am feeling 100% better. I'm already looking foward to next Monday so that I can get hopefully a good fill without being too tight!!!! I am so ready to start seeing some weight loss!!!

Wow you have a great doc! :smile2:

I'm glad you're feeling better; it's scary how quickly we can get dehydrated, isn't it? That was my big worry; when someone can't keep his/her own saliva down, things are going to go south really fast.

This week will fly by and it's safest in the long run! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
