HI all,

It's been a while since I've posted and I hope everyone is doing well. I am in major stall mode. I was banded in March of 2008 and for the last 6-9 months I have been having to get unfills after a fill. When I do I get hungry too frequently and with the small fills I can't even swallow my spit. I am on my way now to have an unfill. Has anyone had this problem and succesfully overcame it? Are there any suggestions on what I can do to get to that sweet spot? Thanks

I am so sorry you are having this problem. The same thing happened to me after my first year or so with the band. Unfortunately, I was never able to resolve it and ended up revising to the sleeve. My doctor agreed that my body just seemed to have an intolerance for the band.

Have you had any of your fills done under flouroscopy? If not, it might be time for one. That way your doctor can check your band and get a better idea of just how much fill you need.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
