Had 1st Fill--Now need HELP

Recommended Posts

So I had my first fill yesterday. I thought it was going to hurt, but it wasn't as bad as I made it to be. The doctor put 5cc in, but when I started to drink Water I was having chest pains and he took 2cc out. It didn't help though that the doctor was in a foul mood and really didnt answer any of my questions. So i am here.

I know that I have to be on a liquid diet for 3 days, but whats after that? Can I start my regular diet or do I go soft then regular food again? Help!!

Hi:

My doctor always recommends 1 day liquids, 1 day mushies, then back to regular foods. If your doctor wants you on 3 days of liquids, then you should probably do at least one day of mushies before moving on to regular foods.

I love my band and my new flat tummy!

I thought I would loose hair after having 3 surgeries to get this right but I, as of yet, have not had any Hair loss (knock on digital wood). Not everyone does. Dont worry about it unless it starts to happen. You never know if it will.

Good luck. All will be fine.

If it happens, I've read that its usually around 3 months after surgery. The good ne3ws is its temporary. The best way to avoid Hair loss is to make sure you keep up your Protein intake, and take sufficient Iron.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
